The Pullman Company operated the deluxe trians that acted as “boat trains” to provide rail travel so passengers could connect with such Atlantic and Pacific liners operated by Cunard, French Line, Italian Line, Holland America, Matson, American President Lines, Grace Lines, etc. These great Pullman trains were like cruise ships on rails.
